Preamble
Our Dharma is not just a platform, it is a sacred space for learning, dialogue, preservation, and advancement of the timeless knowledge systems of Sanātana Dharma. All those who engage with this platform, whether as visitors, students, teachers, scholars, contributors, or community members, are expected to uphold the highest standards of ethical behaviour, intellectual humility, and respectful conduct, in alignment with Dharma.
This Code of Conduct is a living expression of our shared responsibilities. By using any part of Our Dharma, you agree to follow these principles in letter and in spirit.
1. Core Values
All users and contributors must uphold the following Dharma-aligned values:

Satya (Truthfulness) – Speak and share honestly; avoid deception or distortion.

Ahimsā (Non-Harm) – Engage in ways that are non-violent, compassionate, and respectful.

Śaucam (Purity) – Maintain clarity and purity in speech, intent, and action.

Dama (Self-Restraint) – Moderate passions; do not incite discord or ego-driven debate.

Shraddhā (Reverence) – Honour the sacredness of the wisdom being shared.

Sāmya (Equanimity) – Welcome diverse perspectives with fairness and openness.
2. Who This Code Applies To
This Code applies to:

3. Expected Behaviour
We expect all members of the Our Dharma community to:

Submit original, thoughtful content free from plagiarism or sensationalism.
Use Language Mindfully

Avoid offensive, discriminatory, or vulgar language.

Use inclusive language; avoid casteist, racist, sexist, or sectarian terms.

When using Sanskrit or Indic languages, transliterate and define for accessibility.
Protect the Sanctity of the Platform

Do not spam, troll, or derail discussions.

Report unethical behaviour or misuse to moderators.

Help foster an atmosphere of shared learning and peaceful dialogue.
4. Prohibited Conduct
Any of the following actions are grounds for warnings, moderation, or termination of access:
Hate Speech or Sectarianism

Propagation of casteist, racist, xenophobic, misogynistic, or communal ideologies

Denigrating other traditions, sects, or spiritual paths

Promoting supremacy of a specific lineage, guru, or group with exclusionary intent
Harassment or Bullying

Persistent unwanted contact or messaging

Targeted personal attacks or shaming

Mockery of religious practice, attire, or belief
Misinformation or Scriptural Misuse

Deliberate distortion or misquotation of sacred texts

Fabrication of quotes, references, or historical claims

Misrepresenting one’s academic or traditional credentials
Plagiarism and Unethical Content Use

Submitting others’ work without credit

Using Our Dharma materials without attribution or license

Uploading AI-generated content without human review and responsibility
Commercial Exploitation

Using the platform to promote unrelated business, personal brands, or MLM schemes

Soliciting donations, followers, or clients without express permission
5. Moderation and Enforcement
Our Dharma reserves the right to:

Edit or remove content that violates this Code

Issue warnings or temporary bans

Suspend or terminate user accounts or contributor access

Take legal action if content breaches intellectual property, privacy, or defamation laws
All enforcement decisions are made based on principles of fairness, evidence, and spiritual integrity.
6. Reporting Violations
If you witness or experience behaviour that violates this Code:

False or malicious reports will also be considered misconduct.
7. Appeal and Restoration Process
Users subject to moderation may:

Submit a respectful appeal within 14 days

If sincere reform is demonstrated, access may be restored after review
Our Dharma emphasises reform over retribution, when appropriate.
8. Spiritual and Cultural Sensitivity
Given the sacred and global nature of Sanātana Dharma, all users are asked to:

Avoid trivialising rituals, deities, or texts

Be aware of diverse traditions.

Engage with humility, recognising we are all learners on the path
